Joe is a passionate nurse.
He has been a registered nurse since 1991. He has worked in many areas of nursing including cancer care, intensive care, community nursing, aged care, disability care, stroke and rehabilitation.
Since being elected Joe has supported many health-related groups such MND and Me, Parkinson’s Queensland, Diabetes Queensland, and Palliative Care Queensland to advocate to the Palaszczuk Government around a range of issues to improve the health of Queenslanders.
Joe is proud of the work the Palaszczuk Government has done for Nurses and Health. The Safe Patient to Nurse/Midwife Ratio laws, the establishment of nurse navigator roles and the recent increase in Mental Health funding are just a few of the achievement he is most proud of.
Joe has continued to maintain his nursing practice since being elected volunteering for several years as a registered nurse at local multicultural/refugee health service the World Wellness Group in Stones Corner.
Having lost both parents to Parkinson’s Disease Joe is currently volunteering as a Registered Nurse for Parkinson’s Queensland.
